Performance Evidence
Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:
locates and applies applicable documentation, policies and proceduresimplements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient completion of pothole repairs including:identifying and applying relevant drawings and job specifications to all work activitiesidentifying, obtaining, confirming and positioning required signageselecting and checking tools and equipment to meet requirements of the job works effectively with others to undertake and complete pothole repair tasks that meet all requirements including:preparing for and organising work activities to meet all task requirementscommunicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructionsusing a range of communication techniques and aids to advise others of work activity and exclusion zonesdemonstrates completion of the repair of potholes that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:removing water and loose material from pothole or defective areatrimming pothole/defect and ensuring mechanical interlock of repair materialapplying binder to provide adequate adhesion of repair material and waterproofing of repaired area placing and compacting materials to specificationcleaning repaired area, removing excess loose materials, and applying sand or blinding material where specifiedpreparation, repair and clean-up of a minimum of three (3) potholes including at least two (2) to sub-grade level, using specified materials: the repairs are to be in accordance with the prescribed job specification
